So we got up early this morning to beat the wind. Kinda worked. Made it to here ar Crane Lake about 2 miles fromwxit but there are some nasty whitecaps between us and there.
We are nkw camled out on an island at 11am, maybe we are staying, maybe we are going. Since we have absolutely nowhere to be, staying is currently in the lead.
The campsite on the lake has a US Forest Sevice grate on it. Lots of flat places and a sandy beach. Hard to call it "stuck here" when it is so nice. The boat traffic on this lake though, busy!
Last night we paddled to dinner at Sand Point Lodge, that might be a first. Cindy made us burgers, chicken tenders, fries and onion rings. We had ice cubes. And chairs. Amazing, food was good too.
They have about five cabins there, the small ones with two bedrooms, full kitchen and dock for $1300 a week, or $650 a couple. One three and one four bedroom cabin as well. They will shuttle from Crane Lake if you need it and have a couple boats for rent as well. Day trips to Voyager NP arr a boat ride across the lake.
We met some young men from troop 165 in Illinios last night watching the sunset from the point we were camped on. They were staying at Bachs Bay camp. They told us about the app to check into Voyager from Canada side, and Canadian check point is only couple miles away be boat, so in and out pretty easy. Gives me ideas for friends trips.that want to see this part of the world, for frends that arent interested in sleeping on the ground, lol.
