I think today was my best day of walleye fishing ever. I caught 5 but these were the first two and they were delicious. I also got a small northern and Sheila had a big one on.
In case you are reading this Dad I had on a pink and white striped spinner and about 25 yards of line out. Paddled the shoreline.
Last night the beaver gave us a couple loud water slaps but less loon calling on this lake.
Rain again in the AM made for a very lazy morning with lots of time for coffee and a book.
We made it on the water at noon and had lunch at the end of a channel on the little rock island in the center of the circular pond. Bullseye island was covered in blueberry bushes and a really old cedar tea. Bonnie from Ely had showed us how to make cedar tee, shoulda brought the Jetboil. Next time. Some of the highly rated buys off the internet Sheila picked out were pretty good, lunch spot the best.
Dinner is over, dishes washed and food pack up in the tree. I was gonna use the pic of the walleye we caught and cooked tonight for this location post, but the view from our campsite this evening is just too good.
